Synopsis

The production of plastic in the world has been higher than any other type of material in recent decades. Estimates predict that the consumption and disposal model will triple by 2050. These data reinforce the importance of studies on the subject, so that strategies can be formulated to reduce consumption and improve the recycling of plastics. In this sense, the first volume presents the data and context of plastic waste in Brazil and its main environmental impacts.
